We develop custom applications and tools for:
CRISpy-pop - A web application that generates and filters guide RNA sequences for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing. This tool focuses on generating guide RNA sequences for Yeast and Bacterial species used in bioenergy research.
GXSeq is a repository of genomic sequence, annotations, and sample data. Using this site you can interact with genomic data. There are listings of sequence and features that you can search and download, a browser to view genomic data, dynamic tables of expression data and tools to investigate that data.
Chemical Genomics - A Web Application developed to support the laboratory process and data capture activities related to conducting experiments that modulate yeast growth conditions and culminate with DNA sequencing. Below is an example of the drag and drop PCR plate interface in this application.
We developed custom LIMS solutions for the Biomass Analytics Facility, Plant Transformation, and MSU Proteomics to provide customized features beyond the general capabilities of the GLBRC Data Catalog.
In addition, we've written custom tools for:
FAM is a web application used to track financial information by the GLBRC business office at MSU including budget summaries, account expenditures, and custom reports.
QRS is a web application used to gather information from disparate sources throughout the center for the purpose of reporting to leadership the status of objectives, publications, intellectual property, and other important information.
We automatically sync data from various sources to the GLBRC Storage and the Data Catalog. Current Sources include JGI, MSMC, MSU Proteomics, and UW Biotech.
We have a newly rewritten CLI tool for pushing and pulling data from Data Catalog. This tool can be run anywhere (your PC, server, or on a cloud service) to connect to your data catalog data.
We administer an intranet which includes browser-based editing support for Microsoft Office documents, document storage, calendaring and roll-up calendars, list management and workflows for accomplishing complex list and task automation.
We assist with the maintenance and management of the computers running in lab spaces. Connecting them to file server(s), data backup, accessing departmental resources, or just making sure they're all configured to install patches and have anti-virus software installed.
We maintain storage resources including an on-premise file server for smaller storage needs and a distributed file system for large data storage (genomic sequencing, etc).
We perform nightly backups of all production systems and rotate this data off-site weekly. We also offer data archival solutions, customized to the needs of the lab/research unit. If you store your data on any of our production systems it will be backed up and protected.
Access to GLBRC resources is managed through the People Directory, a user database maintained by HR and the IS support services team.
We can help with a multitude of tasks, including: server hosting, database hosting, software license management, computationally intensive tasks, and more.
